When you register as a musician on the NATICMUSA platform, we collect personal information including your full name, stage name, contact details (email address and phone number), province and city of residence, musical genre, biography, and any profile images or portfolio material you choose to upload. We collect this information solely for the purpose of building South Africa's national music archive.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to create and maintain your public artist profile in the NATICMUSA national archive, to facilitate connections between musicians, promoters, and the public, to send important updates about NATICMUSA programmes and opportunities, and to compile anonymised statistical reports on South Africa's music sector for government and industry stakeholders.
Information Sharing
NATICMUSA does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. Your public profile information (name, genre, biography, and approved images) is visible to all visitors of the platform. Contact details such as email and phone number are only shared with your explicit consent, for example when you indicate availability for booking.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our platform is hosted on secure infrastructure and all data transmissions are encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols.
Your Rights (POPIA)
In accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) No. 4 of 2013, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, to request deletion of your personal information, to object to the processing of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
